CVE Steps up to fight cancer

Linda Hochberg

On February 2nd, our 8th annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society was held in the CVE party room. At this event, we raised over $7200. Music and dancing were provided by Duo Les Complices. When the Duo took a break, DJ Raymond Labrecque and Rejeanne Thiffault provided music for the large crowd of line dancers. The talented and charming Katia (Kathy Shore) performed an amazing belly dance to the delight of the attendees during an intermission.

On Sunday, February 12th, we held a second event for the many residents who would not enter the clubhouse due to COVID. It was a free event held outside at the bus depot parking. At this event, we collected over $1,000. Combined with other donations, our grand total was $8,555.

Many thanks go to Sandy Vaughn and Lise Brazeau for their work in selling tickets for this event. However, these events would not have been possible without the help of Rita Pickar (President of CenClub) Mike Burdman, and Andy Hackett. Their advice and encouragement were invaluable.
