Pedal Away!

By Dan Rosenthal

The Cyclopaths, a CVE based bicycle touring group and have been active here since 2011 and have grown into a family that enjoys the group camaraderie of cycling in different nearby regional parks.

All rides are followed by a picnic, which can be occasioned by storytelling, music, occasional line dancing and fun times.

Our group members have a wide range of cycling experience and understand the value of safety for all our riders.

Just one or two examples: We use a "buddy " system, to look after each other, share cell numbers, caution riders to not ride too close to others in the group because our reaction times vary, and this is collision avoidance and so on.

An example of our last ride, The El Rio Trail last month was managed by Sandy and Auby Weiner and because we had a large number of participants, we had subdivided into four groups.

Each week we choose a different location and enjoy the change in venue.
