Choraleers Return to Dazzle CVE

By Faigy Grzeda and Jennie Spallone

The Choraleers welcome you to participate in our fabulous CVE choir as we begin a new season of singing together! Last year, our audience packed our annual show in the GPA room, swaying, clapping, and singing to the Western Music theme that included such songs as Country Road, Happy Trails and City of New Orleans.

This year, our theme is Oldies but Goodies. The format of our shows will include a selection of songs by the full choir including Under the Boardwalk and Let the Good Times Roll as well as a delightful assortment of songs by smaller ensembles. We can’t wait to see which songs the ensembles surprise us with!

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a motivated newbie, joining the Choraleers is a wonderful way to connect with an artistic community of CVE residents. It’s a way to be part of an enjoyable, stimulating effort to create a quality show for our neighbors, friends and families. The Choraleers work hard to learn the music, put it all together at rehearsals and proudly present our show. We celebrate our accomplishments with an end of season Pot-Luck Party where we raise a glass, enjoy a meal together, and do some informal singing. It’s a great way to top it all off!

Fun fact: Studies have shown that singing in a choir can decrease anxiety, stress, and depression and generally improve your mood. How great is that?

The Choraleers rehearse every Wednesday beginning December 6. If you think that you might want to join our choir, we invite you to drop by to observe a rehearsal. We learn by ear so you don’t have to know how to read music. Membership fee for the full season is $40 (subsidized membership fees available). You can find us in the GPF room (2nd floor in Clubhouse) from 9:30 a.m. until noon every Wednesday so don’t be shy and do drop by. Our 2024 annual show will take place on Thursday, March 7th in the GPA room at 7:30. We hope to surpass our success of last year!

We look forward to meeting you soon! For more information, please call Judy at 954-354-7054 or email us at: cvechoraleers@gmail.com
