The CVE Woodworking Club will once again be offering a broad array of classes as part of CVE’s Livelong Learning Program. A new addition will be an Introduction to Woodworking Class where students will be introduced to different tools and power equipment and how they are used. Participants will gain a general knowledge of how to measure, cut and shape wood. Other classes to be offered include bowl making, pen stands and the ever-popular custom pen making.
The Winter Session begins January 1st and you can register for these classes at the Staff Office beginning on Dec. 1st.
This year the club will be offering a mandatory safety class for all its members. The class will include both a lecture component and hands on safety training of all major powered tools in the shop. The first meetings will be held in room GPA on Wed Dec. 6th and again on Dec. 20th at 10:00 am. Additional sessions will be offered in January.
The Woodworking Club will be hosting an Open House on Dec. 4th, 10 am – 12 noon in conjunction with CenClub’s Class Showcase being held in the Party Room. You are welcome to drop by the Woodshop, located on the 1st floor, adjacent to the billiards room, see the new equipment we’ve acquired, and get more information about membership. At that time you’ll be able to meet with woodworking club instructors and get more information about the classes being offered. We look forward to seeing you there!
