CITY STEPS UP PATROLS DUE TO MIDEAST

Deerfield Beach officials announced today that the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) will be increasing patrols throughout the city in response to rising tensions in the Middle East. The enhanced law enforcement presence will focus specifically on Jewish institutions and areas as a precautionary measure.

City leaders did not cite any known local threat at this time but that the move is being made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all residents.

“We have doubled our efforts to put extra patrols throughout our city," said Deerfield Beach Mayor Todd Drosky.

The city is also encouraging residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
