The Condominium Owners Association of Century Village East, better known as COOCVE, is stepping into a larger role as an educator for residents by launching a new series of lectures designed to provide clear and accessible information about issues that directly affect life in the Village. The initiative reflects a renewed commitment by COOCVE to expand its influence beyond advocacy and representation, positioning itself as a vital source of education for both associations and individual owners.

The CVE Reporter is proud to sponsor the new lecture series. As the only officially recognized newspaper of Century Village East, the CVE Reporter believes deeply in fostering an informed and educated community and this sponsorship underscores a shared mission with COOCVE to ensure every resident stays up to date on news and issues that matter most to life in the Village.

The first session in the series will take place on September 18th, at 1 p.m. and will be accessible by Zoom. This inaugural lecture will focus on House Bill 913, the recent condominium legislation update in Florida that introduces new requirements and regulations for communities like Century Village East. For residents who want to better understand how state law impacts their homes and associations, the session promises to be both timely and valuable.

Florida’s HB 913, signed into law on June 23, 2025, and effective July 1, 2025, brings sweeping reforms aimed at balancing structural safety with financial flexibility for condo associations.

The creation of the lecture series highlights COOCVE’s efforts to be more proactive in the community, reinforcing its stated mission to provide owners and associations with practical resources and training. On its website, under the About Us page, COOCVE lists “education” as one of its guiding principles: providing associations and owners with clear, accessible information, training, and resources.

In addition to the September 18th session on House Bill 913, COOCVE has scheduled a second lecture for October 23rd. That event will take the form of an “Ask the Attorney” program, during which a condominium law specialist will answer questions submitted by residents in advance. Details on how to submit those questions will be announced soon, giving residents the opportunity to raise their most pressing concerns about condominium ownership and the legal framework that shapes daily life in Century Village East.

The September 18th program is open to all Century Village East residents, and those interested can join through Zoom. Future announcements will provide links and instructions for participation, as well as details about the October 23rd attorney session.

Information on how to register for the sessions can be found on COOCVE’s website, coocve.com.
