COOCVE President Seeks Answers to Village Election and Volunteerism Challenges

CVE Reporter

In the wake of recent Century Village East elections, COOCVE President Donna Capobianco is raising questions about voter turnout, volunteer engagement, and the operational challenges facing the community.

In an email to the CVE Reporter, Capobianco is asking why variations occur in CVE election turnouts. Some neighborhoods see much higher participation rates than others, raising concerns about representation and engagement. She is also questioning why volunteerism is shrinking in CVE, as fewer residents step forward to serve as Association Representative Directors. This decline in volunteerism is creating challenges in maintaining active involvement in the Village’s governance.

Capobianco believes that addressing these issues could lead to meaningful improvements for the community. “With good, positive data from our owners, we might find better ways to creatively adjust and alter how we do things in CVE to improve outcomes,” she said.

Another critical issue she highlights is why COOCVE Board of Directors meetings struggle to reach quorum. Despite having over 350 registered Association Representative Directors, the required quorum of 75 attendees is rarely achieved, limiting the Board’s ability to conduct business effectively.
