The CVE Tennis Club is in full swing, with the season well underway and activity across all 15 courts. The past several weeks have been especially energetic, from high-level professional play to signature tournaments that showcase both strategy and camaraderie.

January kicked off with a spectacular Tennis Pro-Am Exhibition, where members were treated to a masterclass in speed and precision. The exhibition set the stage for the DIVAS and A-Men/B-Men tournaments, which featured impressive rallies and tactical net play. Beyond the scores, the real victory was the sportsmanship and laughter shared during post-match gatherings.

Our new 2026 program, Doubles Strategy Team Lessons, has proven incredibly popular. These sessions, led by CVE Tennis Pro Ron Perry, are helping players refine their positioning and develop stronger “team think” on the court. Many teams have signed up to take advantage of this unique opportunity to sharpen their game.

On “Super Saturday,” which we will report on next month, members enjoyed a Double Feature that included a morning of friendly competition matches followed by a luncheon and a high-energy event, the CVE Tennis Open. The Open featured six teams competing across several tennis venues before concluding with lunch and social time.

Ongoing activities, in addition to regular daily team play, include the ladder competition in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. Playoffs are scheduled for March 14 and 15. Full brackets and match times can be found under the “Events” section of the club’s website at www.cvetennis.com.

Three busloads of tennis members will travel to the Miami Open at Hard Rock Stadium on March 19. While the club’s block of tickets is currently sold out, occasional cancellations may create openings. Members are encouraged to check the Events/Miami Open page on the website for waitlist information.

For those interested in improving their game, Ron Perry conducts weekday morning clinics at the Clubhouse courts. These clinics are free to all residents and are geared to all levels of play. For information about clinics or to request private lessons, visit the club’s website, pick up a clinic schedule at the Clubhouse Staff Office, or contact Ron directly at rmperry16@gmail.com.

The CVE Tennis Club welcomes players of all levels and abilities and offers numerous opportunities to socialize, make friends, and enjoy the sport. To become a member or request additional information, contact Didi Lacroix at didifit@gmail.com or complete the online membership form at www.cvetennis.com.
