Going “Western” in CV “East”

Jennie Spallone

The CVE Choraleers staged a successful country western show in March, attended by more people than was expected. The show, directed by Linc Lackey and professionally accompanied by Billy MacCumber on piano, Ted Schneider on trumpet, and Jerry Raines on guitar, took place in the CVE Clubhouse. It was their first live annual performance in three years.

What a hit that show turned out to be, with over 125 people in attendance.

How do you define paradise? Is it the ability to work and retire in a warm, sunny, affordable community like CVE, located only minutes from the beach? How about the opportunity to engage in a vast assortment of on-site year-round summer camp activities and events?

In fact, one must be careful not to overdose on too much fun, as I learned the hard way upon moving down here six months ago! One activity I refused to give up, however, was the Choraleers.

All the raves we received on our performance were awesome, and we’re honored to have offered quality entertainment to our residents and their friends. We will be even more honored if you choose to join us in December when we begin rehearsing for our 2024 annual show! One of our members, a voice instructor, even teaches us how to improve our singing!
