Temple dealing with leadership death
Temple B’nai Shalom is proceeding diligently after the death of their spiritual leader, Cantor Gary Sherman. A search committee has been formed and is hard at work to find a replacement. Friday night religious services have continued using an area rabbi as well as lay leaders while social activities continue as scheduled.
High Holidays, which begin on October 2nd, will be celebrated along with Temple Beth Israel in the Activity Center at Le Club. Services will be led by Rabbi Craig Ezring. B’nai Shalom members attend High Holiday services free of charge while there are tickets for sale to non-members.
Meanwhile the social calendar continues to promote the feeling of community to members. An in-house murder mystery starring B’nai Shalom congregants was performed last month. In August a Comedy Night which paid homage to the comedians of old like Lucille Ball, Groucho Marx, Jackie Gleason, Sergeant Bilko, etc. was enjoyed by all. Munch and Learn afternoon sessions over the past few months included topics like The Different Forms of Judaism, What is a Mench?, and What is The Good Life? Upcoming events include attending “The Producers” at the Delray Playhouse in December and a Princess Caribbean Cruise in January.
