The CVE Tennis Club officially launched its new season last month, marking the start of 26 weeks of competition, camaraderie, and recreation for more than 400 members of all skill levels across Century Village East.
“This promises to be another very exciting and fun-filled season for our new and returning members,” said Club President Didi Lacroix. The schedule includes themed social games, men’s and women’s tournaments, a mixed doubles ladder competition, an off-site barbecue, a professional exhibition, a group trip to the Miami Open, a health talk, and an end-of-season celebration with prizes and raffles.
Assignments for all 23 teams have been posted online and at the village’s 14 courts, covering a range of men’s, women’s, mixed, competitive, and social play. Morning sessions are reserved for team matches, while social games are held in the afternoons. Non-club members can also reserve court time through the CenClub Staff Office.
CenClub’s tennis professional Ron Perry continues to offer weekday morning clinics for all levels at the clubhouse courts. Residents can find schedules at the Staff Office or on the club’s website at www.cvetennis.com, where private lessons can also be arranged.
The club welcomes new players throughout the season. Membership information and forms are available online or by contacting Didi Lacroix at didifit@gmail.com.
As the club likes to remind everyone—on and off the court—tennis is a “love” game.
