Put your sneakers on for a magical stroll through Deerfield Island Park (aka DIP), Deerfield

Beach’s only island getaway.  This unique, 53-acre park is open to the public every Friday, Saturday & Sunday excluding holidays.   Take the free 5-minute water shuttle that departs every hour on the hour between 10 am and 2 pm from the Sullivan Park dock (across from The Cove Shopping Center). Parking for up to 4 hours is free.

A new soft rubberized pathway, meanders through the one-acre, new butterfly garden and leads to a shady, raised boardwalk thru the Mangroves , that winds its way through red, white and black mangroves. It’s an easy, 1/4-mile-long loop.

Manatees, birds, threatened gopher tortoises and other wildlife along with a variety of educational displays are evident throughout the Island.   Nature focused and accessible only by boat, you will want to combine this little gem with your day at the beach. You won’t be disappointed.
