CVE Master Management to Continue Funding Extra Patrols After BSO Exit

Century Village East residents will continue to see a police presence inside the Village even after the City of Deerfield Beach no longer used the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) for law enforcement.
For years, CVE Master Management has funded extra patrols—known as “details”—by paying off-duty deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office to enforce traffic laws within the Village. These details, focused on cracking down on speeding, stop sign violations, and other safety issues, have been a cornerstone of Master Management’s commitment to security.
That commitment, officials stress, will not change.
“From our perspective, it doesn’t matter what patch is on the uniform,” CVE Master Management Executive Director Vallen Smikle told the CVE Reporter. “Our priority is to make Century Village East as safe as possible, and we will continue funding details to ensure strong enforcement inside the Village.”
When Deerfield Beach fully transitions away from BSO, those patrols will most likely be conducted by Deerfield Beach police officers instead. City leaders have already announced plans for stronger community policing efforts, with Century Village East listed as a top priority.
For CVE residents, the message is clear: regardless of the agency providing the service, CVE Master Management will continue to ensure a dedicated police presence inside the Village.
