The Deerfield Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has officially extended and expanded its Freebee Rideshare program, a free, on-demand transportation service that has quickly become a favorite among residents. The announcement follows the success of the program’s one-year pilot, which began in March 2024 and quickly proved to be a transformative addition to local transportation options.
Freebee will now be available seven days a week with extended hours—operating Monday through Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Freebee has served as a convenient and eco-friendly alternative to traditional rideshare services by offering no-cost transportation within the city. Village residents can request pickups in the Village to any business located within the CRA District—or vice versa. The program is designed not only to improve mobility but also to boost support for local businesses by making it easier for residents to shop, dine, and explore the area.
The Deerfield Beach CRA District includes the city's coastal and downtown core, stretching from the Intracoastal Waterway west to Dixie Highway, and from Hillsboro Boulevard south to SE 10th Street. This area encompasses the beachside district, the Cove Shopping Center, Sullivan Park, Pioneer Park, and key parts of the historic downtown and commercial corridors along Hillsboro Boulevard. The district has been the focus of revitalization efforts aimed at promoting walkability, economic development, and cultural vibrancy.
Rides can be easily requested through the Freebee mobile app or by calling dispatch at 1-855-918-3733.
