EXCLUSIVE

The City of Deerfield Beach has welcomed a new Director of Economic Development, and one of her first priorities will be to meet directly with village residents to hear their thoughts on the future of business in the city. Michelle Caba, speaking to the CVE Reporter, says she intends to spend time listening to residents and learning what kinds of shops, services, and amenities they believe would improve life in Deerfield Beach.

Caba says Village residents are an important part of Deerfield Beach’s fabric and deserve to have their perspectives included in planning. For Village residents, her outreach in the coming months will provide an opportunity to share ideas about how Deerfield Beach can grow in ways that reflect their priorities and vision for the future.

Caba says she is planning on attending several community meetings inside the village as she ramps up a sort of listening tour across the city,

Her responsibilities will range from attracting new businesses to supporting existing ones, but her early focus on meeting with village residents is meant to ensure that economic development aligns with community needs. City announcements introducing her emphasized the importance of outreach and collaboration as the city works to strengthen its economy.

By connecting directly with residents, Caba hopes to identify what the city may be lacking — whether in restaurants, retail, health services, or recreation — and use that feedback to help shape development priorities.
