Temple B’nai Shalom brought the spirit of Purim to life with a lively and creative celebration that drew approximately 100 members and guests to the Activity Center.

The festive event featured costumes, masks, and two original theatrical performances that offered fresh takes on the traditional Purim story. Attendees were treated to “Purim According to Paul,” a playful, soap opera-style retelling performed by synagogue members, and a “Modern Book of Esther,” which reimagined the story in a contemporary setting with modern-day parallels.

As is customary during Purim, the villain Haman was met with enthusiastic boos and the rattling of groggers, adding to the spirited atmosphere. The performances struck a balance between humor and tradition, leaving attendees entertained and engaged.

The event highlighted Temple B’nai Shalom’s unique and creative approach to celebrating Jewish holidays, a hallmark that continues to attract and connect members of the CVE community. Beyond religious observances, the synagogue regularly hosts a variety of social activities, including shows, comedy nights, movie screenings, and educational programs.

With another successful Purim celebration in the books, Temple B’nai Shalom continues to strengthen its role as a vibrant hub for both cultural and social connection within the community.
