Search for New Cantor Following the Passing of Cantor Gary Sherman

Thanks to Paul Scheiner for providing the information for this story

Temple B’nai Shalom, located at the Activity Center, has initiated a search for a new cantor and spiritual leader following the untimely passing of Cantor Gary Sherman. The Temple has formed a search committee and is actively seeking a candidate to fill this important role.

Cantor Sherman was a well-respected figure in Southern Florida, serving as the spiritual leader of Temple B’nai Shalom for many years. He was often called upon for significant community events, including special programs for Israel, and his presence will be deeply missed.

The Temple’s Search Committee is seeking a cantor to lead weekly Friday night and High Holiday services, preside over Passover Seders and other special services, and provide pastoral care for the synagogue’s aging community.

If you know of anyone who may be interested in this position, please contact Les Gerson at (973) 216-3056 or Paul Scheiner at (630) 452-1131. Additional information about Temple B’nai Shalom can be found on their website: templebnaishalom.org.
