A large number of congregants and guests of Temple B’nai Shalom celebrated Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in the Activity Center. The services were led by Spiritual Leader and Cantor Mitch Martin. The services were also available on Zoom for those unable to attend.
This was the first High Holiday service led by Cantor Mitch since joining B’nai Shalom. The attendees agreed that the service was both meaningful and enjoyable. The service included Aliyots widely distributed to a number of congregants.
The High Holiday attendance was indicative of Temple B’nai Shalom remarkable growth as more and more CVE residents are attracted to this unique Congregation. In addition to the ongoing celebration of all religious holidays and festivals, the Temple focuses on interesting social activities for members to connect with other Jews. Over the next few months Congregants will get together for planned social activities including a show at the Willow Theater (California Suite), an original play (Middle Age Muddle) to be performed by synagogue members, and a Caribbean cruise (Aruba/Curacao) aboard Celebrity Line.
B’nai Shalom meets for Shabbat Services every Friday night at 7:30 PM in the Activity Center. The service is followed by an oneg which gives participants an opportunity to mingle and schmooze over coffee and cake. There are monthly Lunch and Learn sessions whereby discussions on stimulating topics of interest (Middle East, Yiddish, Passover prep) are preceded by bagels and coffee
