Temple B’nai Shalom is preparing to build on its remarkable growth as the new season approaches. The temple attracts members with its buoyant approach to religious services and its lively calendar of social activities.
Following the recently completed High Holy Day services, upcoming religious celebrations include Sukkot and Simchat Torah, with a very special Hanukkah celebration in December to close out 2025. All of these services will be led by the temple’s upbeat cantor, Mitchell Martin, who also leads services every Friday night in the Activity Center.
The B’nai Shalom Players jumped the gun on the new season by once again performing the play Two Many Wives, this time for another synagogue, the Liberal Jewish Temple of Coconut Creek. About 100 people enjoyed the performance.
Social activities for the coming season include California Suite at the Willow Theatre in Sugar Sands Park in November and a new original play by the B’nai Shalom Players in December. These will be followed in January by a Celebrity Cruise to Aruba and Curaçao.
B’nai Shalom meets every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Activity Center. The service is followed by an oneg, giving participants an opportunity to mingle and schmooze while snacking. There are also monthly Lunch and Learn sessions, where stimulating discussions on topics of interest are preceded by bagels and coffee.
