A large number of congregants and guests of Temple B’nai Shalom celebrated Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in the Activity Center. The services were led by Spiritual Leader and Cantor Mitch Martin. The services were also available on Zoom for those unable to attend. Cantor Mitch Martin led the Tashlich service for Temple B’nai Shalom at the Century Village canal on West Dr. after Rosh Hashana services. We symbolically “threw our sins into the canal,’ using bird seed instead of traditional bread to be more environmentally friendly.

On September 18, the Century Village East Stickball Team faced off against the Florida Atlantic University Women’s Softball Team in a spirited nine-inning stickball game. FAU came out on top, but the day was all about camaraderie and fun. Both teams joined together to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and “Sweet Caroline.” Special thanks to  Mike Burdman  for organizing the event.

The pickleball courts at Century Village East were alive with excitement on September 27th as players from CVE faced off against Century Village Boca in a spirited inter-village tournament. With more than 50 players competing, the day was filled with fast-paced rallies, dramatic tie-breaks, and a strong sense of camaraderie among residents. The CVE Tennis Club officially launched its new season last month, marking the start of 26 weeks of competition, camaraderie, and recreation for more than 400 members of all skill levels across Century Village East. “This promises to be another very exciting and fun-filled season for our new and returning members,” said Club President Didi Lacroix. The first meeting takes place on Wednesday, December 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room GPF on the second floor of the clubhouse. The Republican Club of Century Village East held its annual membership drive on Monday, September 15, at the shuffleboard courts, drawing 85 residents for an evening of fellowship, food, and local politics. The event featured a free barbecue and raffle, and organizers reported 10 new members joining the club. The CVE Choraleers are welcoming new members as they begin their 52nd season under new leadership and music direction. Rehearsals start December 9 and will be held Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Clubhouse Music Room through early March. This season introduces Mitch Martin as music director and Stephanie Colman returning as pianist. Co-presidents Carolyn Woszczyna and Barbara Adler say the group is open to all residents who love to sing, calling it “a rewarding experi
