The Russian Matryoshka Club recently brought residents together for an evening celebrating Russian culture at Century Village East.
The May 2 event featured a screening of the Russian film “The Teacher/Ychilka,” followed by a discussion with scriptwriter Ekaterina Asmus. Organizers said the gathering helped foster community while giving attendees a deeper appreciation for Russian cinema and traditions.
Club organizer Larissa Dyan said the group is planning additional cultural events, including film screenings, lectures, workshops and future collaborations with other language and cultural clubs in the community. Russian language classes are also planned for the fall.
