A Lively Zoom Holiday Party Ends Our Classes in 2024
In our December 13, 2024 Zoom Party we learned how to stay safe and secure when doing holiday shopping online and in retail stores. We covered the risks of posting travel information on social media, how to detect and prevent holiday package delivery scams and schemes targeted to Seniors, and more. In our lively interactive Show and Tell portion, members showed some of their holiday purchases and discussed what their favorite holiday movies and songs were, and revealed some useful websites and apps for seniors and others. Participants get more out of presentations when they are interacting and connecting with one another.
The Deerfield Beach Computer Club, is a non-profit (501) (c) (3) IRS and Florida-recognized tax-exempt charitable educational organization of Seniors that meets on one Friday each month from 10:00-11:30 am ET (USA and Canada). Our Zoom classes are FREE. Donations to the Club are tax-free. Our ongoing mission is to engage participants in the latest technologies available to the general public. We encourage active participation in our meetings where everyone will learn to effectively use their computer, tablet, smartphone, laptop, Chromebook or other devices, and related application software. Our membership consists of seniors with various skill levels, expertise, and experience ranging from beginner to advanced users. Our monthly meetings consist of presentations given on a variety of topics from high quality speakers within the Club as well as from outside sources. Open forum Q&A sessions allow members to find solutions to problems.Â
In 2025 we plan to present trending topics such as major events and products from Apple, Google, and Microsoft, Streaming Services, Using AI, Tips for Safe and Secure Shopping, Assistive Technology, and much more.
