CVE Italian American Club Kicks Off 2025 with Insightful January Meeting and Exciting Events
The CVE Italian American Club is gearing up for its next meeting, scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse Room GP-A. This important gathering will feature a guest speaker from The Neurology Institute, who will provide insights into the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Members and guests are encouraged to attend, as this will also be the final opportunity to sign up for the Gulfstream trip on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Registration for the trip, which is now open to guests, will close after the meeting. In addition, Joe, the club president, announced that three members will be appointed to serve on the Election Committee for the club’s February elections.
The club’s December meeting, held on Monday, December 9, 2024, was a lively and festive affair attended by 48 members. Signups for upcoming events continued, and attendees enjoyed several treats. Patty Manzo won $75 in the 50/50 raffle and generously donated her winnings to Toys for Tots, while Bonnie Simon took home the door prize.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Roger Smith shared chestnuts—some roasted—that he had grown on his farm in Iowa, which were a hit among chestnut lovers. Annie Russo delighted members with homemade cookies shaped and colored like the Italian flag, earning rave reviews for both taste and creativity.
Joe wrapped up the December meeting by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy New Year. The Italian American Club continues to foster camaraderie and cultural pride, and members are looking forward to an engaging start to 2025.
NOTE: We submitted the wrong information to the CVE Reporter for the December issue: Lorenzo Abbaglivo won the door prize and Lorenzo Cricchio donated the Italian Flag; a Lorenzo mixup, sorry.
