CVE Quilt Club to Host Open House in April, Showcasing Art and Technique

The CVE Quilt Club will welcome residents and visitors to its Open House on April 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the art of quilting. Held in the Clubhouse Sewing Room and Room GPA, the event will feature live demonstrations and an exhibition of intricate quilted works, providing insight into the creativity and craftsmanship behind this beloved textile art.
Guests visiting the Sewing Room will witness hands-on quilting techniques, including both machine and hand-stitching demonstrations, while Room GPA will transform into a vibrant gallery, showcasing a diverse collection of quilted pieces ranging from large-scale works to delicate designs. Club members and artists will be on hand to discuss their creations, answer questions, and share the inspiration behind their work.
The CVE Quilt Club is a thriving community of fiber artists, meeting weekly on Monday afternoons in the Clubhouse Sewing Room. The group explores everything from color, texture, and pattern to advanced quilting techniques, collaborative projects, and the ever-elusive challenge of joining pieces without losing the design in those tricky quarter-inch seams. With a focus on creativity, learning, and camaraderie, the club also organizes field trips and workshops to further enhance members' skills and passion for quilting.
Thanks to CenClub, the Sewing Room is newly equipped with computerized sewing and quilting machines, as well as standard machines available for community use.
This year, the Quilt Club will host two Open Houses, with a second event planned for December to welcome back seasonal residents. For now, all are encouraged to stop by on April 8, explore the artistry, and experience the joy of quilting firsthand.
