Italian American Club Kicks Off 2025 with Big Turnout and Insightful Talk

Lori Benoit

The CVE Italian American Club kicked off the year with its January meeting on Monday, January 13, 2025, drawing a strong turnout of 78 attendees. Members signed up for upcoming events, and refunds for the canceled Jungle Queen trip were distributed. Those still needing refunds can contact Lori Benoit at 954-304-6124.

The meeting featured a raffle, with Joanne LaBarbera winning $95 in the 50/50 drawing and Candy Walecki taking home the door prize. President Joe appointed three members—Judy Olmstead, Toni Giordano, and Amy Prince—to serve on the Election Committee for February’s Board elections.

The guest speaker, Vanessa Rodman, MBA, from the Alzheimer’s Research Center in Wellington, FL, delivered an enlightening presentation on advancements in Alzheimer’s treatment, early signs to watch for, and available resources. Many members asked questions, which Vanessa and her team addressed thoroughly. Those interested in screenings or additional information can contact Vanessa at 561-209-2400 or via email at vrodman@researchaltz.com.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the next meeting will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Room GP-A at the Clubhouse—one week earlier than usual. CenClub President Rita Pickar will be the guest speaker. Members and guests are encouraged to attend, especially as Board elections will take place next month.

With only five seats remaining for the Gulfstream trip, members are encouraged to sign up quickly. Guests are welcome!
