Chris Kelly, head of Security in Century Village East, will be the guest speaker at the CVE Italian American Club’s February meeting, scheduled for Monday, February 9, 2026. The meeting will also include nominations for club officers, with members in good standing eligible to make nominations from the floor before nominations are closed.

The club’s January meeting, held on Monday, January 12, 2026, was well attended, with approximately 61 members present, including 15 new members. The 50/50 raffle collected $250, with Judy Grech winning $125. The door prize was won by Annie Russo.

During the meeting, Joe requested five nominations for the Election Committee. Gloria and Judy Olmstead, Connie Kershaw, Sylvia Russo, and Joe Wamness were nominated, and all accepted. Officer nominations will formally take place at the February 9 meeting.

Linda Doyle introduced Elizabeth Moore and Saffa Wilkes from Northeast Focal Point. Representatives explained the organization’s Health and Social Services Division, which operates a Senior Center and Alzheimer’s Adult Day Care, and shared information about the services available to seniors in the community.

Members also enjoyed a recent trip to the Mai Kai on January 14. Attendees reported that the show, particularly the fire dancers, was excellent and the food delicious. The trip’s 50/50 raffle collected $190, with Elizabeth Heslin winning $95. There is still space available for the Carnival Dinner Dance, with the final date to sign up being January 22, 2026. Interested members may contact Lori Benoit at 954-304-6124.
