The February meeting of the CVE Italian American Club was held on Monday, February 9, 2026. 50/50 collected $70, the winner Beth Groffman taking home $35; the door prize was won by Joe Wamness. Congrats to both winners.

Joe asked all the Board members if they will be returning next season and all responded yes;Lori confirmed Patty Manzo in her absence. Nominations for board positions were put to the floor and given that there were none, the current Board will remain for next season.

The guest speaker was Chris Kelly, Director of Security in the Village. He gave a brief outline of his past job experiences and his duties here in the CVE. He said his current office at the main gate is temporary and that he will be moving to the Staff Office in the Clubhouse shortly. He mentioned that people with rental cars can get a bar code installed while they are here and removed by Security when they leave. He stressed that the bar code lane is for bar code owners only. He answered many questions.

The Carnival Dinner Dance on the 5th in the Party Room was a great evening. The D.J. Yeshykept the music lively and entertaining. Joseph’s Italian Market provided the delicious buffet that brought people back for seconds and thirds. The servers Paul and Liz from Parties Extraordinaire, along with volunteers kept the food line moving, making sure everyone had everything they wanted. Lynn Redmond from Astonishing Affairs provided beautiful balloon decorations. Many thanks to those volunteers who helped set up the room that morning and helped throughout the event. A great time was had by all.

Joe mentioned there will not be a second bus for the trip to Gulfstream Park on March 8 because not enough people signed up -- he reminded everyone who will be going that the bus leaves promptly at 12 noon from our parking lot.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the Clubhouse Room GP-A. The speaker will be Stephen Wolfe, senior estate planner, back by popular demand.
