Get ready to move and be moved—May 10th is Shimmy Mob World Dance Day, when women around the globe will perform the same belly dance routine to raise awareness for domestic violence. At CVE, the Shimmy Mob Team Deerfield Beach will join this international movement with a special performance in support of Women in Distress of Broward County. Mark your calendar and come cheer them on as they dance with purpose, power, and unity on World Belly Dance Day.

The CVE Belly Dance Club, in collaboration with the Shimmy Mob Team, brings that same energy to the community every month. They meet at the gazebo on the second Wednesday of the month from 4–5 PM, sharing their love of dance in a fun, welcoming environment.

Belly dancing is not only joyful and expressive—it’s also incredibly good for you. It strengthens your core, improves posture, keeps your joints flexible, and lifts your mood. Think of it as cheaper than therapy and twice as fun—and with a bonus of strong abs and a happy spine!

Come join the next gathering on April 9th and learn a belly dance line dance to ABBA’s "Dancing Queen", plus a traditional stick dance. No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to shimmy!
