Tap, Tweak, and Tech On: March Tech Tips from Geeks on Tour

In March, the Geeks on Tour demonstrated some handy hacks using both iPhones and Androids. Did you know that you can use your spacebar as a trackpad to reach and edit portions of texts? Also, if you’re in your condo or somewhere without wifi, you can use your iPhone or Android phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot (as long as you have an unlimited data plan). If you’re traveling, hiking or somewhere without wifi, conserve your cell phone battery life by turning on Airplane mode so it won’t keep searching for wifi. We also learned how to move icons to our home page, consolidate icons into folders to save space, and rename them for easy access. They showed easy ways to scan physical photo albums a whole page at a time, while being able to access individual pictures (for free).  And if you missed the show, you can see it again (or any of the others) on our website, https://www.db-cc.net/ (from the YouTube icon).   As always, they answered a wide range of questions from an energized and enthusiastic audience.

The Deerfield Beach Computer Club is dedicated to helping seniors with tech-related needs and questions for users with both iPhone and Android devices.  We meet at 10:00 AM on one Friday each month, currently on Zoom, possibly returning to classroom meetings in the not too distantfuture. Zoom classes are FREE. We are proud to be the only computer and technology club serving Deerfield Beach and the surrounding communities.

To learn more about us, visit our secure and dynamic website at https://www.db-cc.net. For information on attending a meeting or joining the Club, contact Membership Director and CVE resident Pete Zambito at 954-941-4870.  Look forward to seeing you soon!
